Shams Institute of Science and Technology,  was founded after 6 years introductory arrangements, based on licences 22.13282 on October 22, 2007 and No. 22.7591 on July 29, 2009 by higher education development council of Science, Researches and Technology Ministry. It should be nited that the institution started its activities on 2008 practically through admitting students in accounting and insurance affairs fields in two associate and Bachelor’s degrees.     

Institution’ articles association was approved by higher education development council on May 30, 2009 and was notified based on proclamation of Science, Researches and Technology Minister,  No.22.9091 on August 26, 2009. The decrees of the first period memebers of institution’ trustees’ board has been issued based on Art. 8 of article of association and decree of representative of Science, Researches and Technology Minister according to paragraph 2 of the same article. 

Currently, Dr. Mohammad Moqadam Vahed is the head of institution.
